Global Vision Biotechnologies have recently announced that they are set to advise a top confectionary brand ice cream, who are part of a bigger group, on formulations for their soon to be launched CBD infused ice cream range.
This announcement ties in with top confectionary brands confirmation that they will soon be adding CBD to some of its product range once approved on a federal level by the FDA, which is anticipated to be before year end. The top confectionary brand are also encouraging people to reach out to the FDA to express their support for CBD products.
Once legalized, the company vows to use sustainably sourced CBD from Vermont, where the company is headquartered.
The top confectionary brand announced on their website, “You probably already know that we’re fans of all things groovy. So, it’s no surprise that we can’t wait to get into the latest food trend: cannabidiol, or CBD.”
The company cited a recent study by the National Restaurant Association that found that three in four chefs named CBD- and marijuana-infused edibles as the hottest food trend this year.
“We’re doing this for our fans,” the top confectionary brand CEO said in a statement.
“We’ve listened and brought them everything from Non-Dairy indulgences to on-the-go portions with our Pint Slices. We aspire to love our fans more than they love us and we want to give them what they’re looking for in a fun.”
Unlike THC, the chemical in marijuana that makes users high, CBD doesn’t since it acts on different parts of the nervous system. Clinical research has proven that CBD already helps children who suffer from seizures and epilepsy that can’t be controlled with other medicines. And it is now also used to treat everything from pain and anxiety to inflammation and sleeplessness.
“We are delighted to be selected to advise the top confectionary brands ice cream on formulas for their soon to be launched CBD infused ice cream range,” said Michael Lorthe, Ph.D., Head of Product Development at Global Vision Biotechnologies, Vancouver.
“Our research and development in to soluble CBD has already resulted in our involvement with several other large global brands and we are pleased to soon be adding Unilever to that list. Our team at Gen Bio deserve all the praise as without their tireless dedication and work ethic none of this would be possible. We look forward to ensuring that the top confectionary brand CBD infused ice cream offers both the company and their customers a product that is in keeping with their reputation as market-leaders and with close collaboration further developing the range available,” Michael Lorthe added.
It is expected that the initial launch of the CBD infused ice cream will consist of 7 different flavor varieties which will be expanded upon as the product establishes itself with consumers.
